I processed a stack of old pictures the other day and it's way past time to post them. We went to the Hsi Lai Temple in March and I have some good pictures to share. It's a boring rainy day today so lets look at something sunny.
Here's the view of Hacienda Heights from the temple. They have these great yellow tile roofs that are always beautiful and interesting to look at. It's a little bit of Taiwan set down in Southern California. If you look at it just right you can pretend you're someplace else.
You'd have to squint a lot to block out these power lines, but the hills look good.
They always have orchids and we've been lucky to see them blooming the last two times we've gone there. A nice woman talked to me about them. She was very enthusiastic about them and said they have a lot of them in Taiwan. Seing them there reminded her of home. I told her I was surprised at how well they grow here. I always thought they were a difficult plant to grow. We obviously have the right climate for them.
Those are only two of the many colors and shapes they have there. It's a lovely place to walk around, and it's very peaceful. If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood go visit. Their web site is here if you're curious about who they are and what they do. Hsi Lai Temple
